Mobility of the future - Wallstabe & Schneider develops sealing systems for BEV

Electrification in the automotive sector is being driven forward internationally, and Wallstabe & Schneider is also involved in numerous customer projects in the development and design of sealing systems for electric vehicles.

For housing covers of electric vehicle batteries Wallstabe & Schneider has developed PIP gaskets with very large dimensions, these seals have a circumfrence up to six meters. The PIP gasket protects the battery from environmental influences, such as dust and moisture. In addition, with its product, the company can meet the requirement for vibration decoupling of the housing because the seal dampens vibrations and noises. Depending on the design of the housing, Wallstabe & Schneider realizes the appropriate seal geometry.

To keep the drive train in the electric vehicle at the correct operating temperature, complex thermal management modules are used whose valves have to be sealed. In order to achieve the lowest possible actuating forces in these modules, Wallstabe & Schneider offers optimized geometries and manufactures the seals with PTFE film coating if required. Also due to the extensive material portfolio certified by OEM customers, Wallstabe & Schneider is well positioned for all customer requirements.
